Fire Retardant Archidply Plywood conforms to IS 5509-2000 standards, providing resistance to ignition, surface spread of flames, and flame penetration through appropriate chemical treatment. Fire retardant properties are a critical property for preventing fire propagation in its early stages. Flame penetration: Flame penetration should take no less than 15 minutes for every 6mm thickness. Burning rate: The time required to lose weight from 30% should not be less than 20 minutes. Flammability: The time required for the second ignition must be no less than 30 minutes.

In a vacuum pressure impregnation process, the manufactured BWP quality plywood is chemically treated. The end result is a boiling-waterproof plywood that is highly resistant to fungi, termites, and other insects such as marine borer.

Lamyply is a composite material made up of BWR Grade Plywood and decorative laminates. BWR Grade plywood is made of chemically impregnated hardwood timber and international glue line technology, making it 100% borer-proof. The decorative laminates are then pressed onto the BWR Grade plywood for 12- 14 minutes at 140° temperature and 14kg/cm2 specific pressure. To improve bonding, impregnated tissue paper is used between decorative laminates and BWR plywood. The resulting Lamyply has 50% more strength than standard plywood. Lamyboard is made in the same way by pressing decorative laminate onto blockboard.
